Terrific place for a special occasion. Terrific service and atmosphere! Go when the weather is nice so you can sit on the patio- fantastic view. Food was really good and they made a birthday dinner special. Only reason for the 4 not a 5 rating is the limited selection- and you will spend 50 per person minimum- if you do not drink. But for a special night and very good food- I highly recommend this restaurant.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the FS Scottsdale. Had dinner here twice. Went back a 2nd time because the 1st experience was so incredible. As another reviewer remarked, Anthony Kinn runs a great ship here. We got to know him during our stay and his attention to detail was remarkable. Our meals were presented and prepared to perfection. Servers were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. Be sure to try the King Crab roll appetizer. Wonderful. Wine service was excellent as well. Start with a cocktail on the terrace at Onyx, the lounge adjacent to the restaurant. Ask for a table by the glass window with a view of Pinnacle Peak and the roaring fire. PS we didn't think it was expensive, no more so than our regular places here in rural Lancaster County, PA. $200 for a deuce is pretty standard at a top notch restaurant. Plus, there wine list was very reasonable - we paid $48 for a 06 bottle of Rombauer Merlot. We'd pay $80 in PA if we could even find it on a wine list here.

Everything, from the food to the service, to the view of the sun setting over the mountains, was wonderful. We asked for a table near the window (it was too hot to eat out on the patio); started with cocktails that were top rate. Could not have asked for better service. Husband had a steak with bleu cheese and I had duck in a maple sauce. Everything was flavored and cooked to a tee. Unlike some over-the-top hotel restaurants in the Scottsdale area, this one could be described as "understated elegance." There was a decent wine list with wines for all budgets. Unpretentious, and prices no higher than comparable restaurants in the area.

We dined at Talavera at the Four Seasons last night, and I have to say, it was so completely wonderful in every way. The service was top notch! We had Penny as our server, and she spoiled us for sure! No detail was overlooked, with the changing of the silverware, our waters were always filled, and we never needed anything. It was totally relaxing on the patio watching the beautiful view. But let me talk about the food...in a word: WOW! We tried several appetizers, and the next one was more incredible than the last. The Crab Rolls, the tomatoes with burrata cheese, the goat cheese with beets, apples, and arugula, the beef tartare, the macaroni and cheese with prosciutto, the scallops with gnocchis and beans, and the huge shrimp with pork belly...all incredible in their own way!
I have to say I've had dinner in several upscale places, and this blew them out of the water without a doubt. T Cooks, forget it, so overrated and overpriced, La Marchesa, which also was so average and super expensive, and most recently we tried Eddie Matney's new restaurant, which was awful, awful, awful.
If you are looking for a romantic place, take a nice drive up North to Talavera. I'll be back for sure! And ask for Penny!
